"Bismuth" (2022)

"Bismuth" was an attempt at absolute wonk taken to 100% at all times. It has a LOT going on!

At the time, I was interested in completely eschewing genre conventions, and also in making bass music that has no interest in being dance music.

I did some very strange things to achieve loooooosseee rhythms! Including automating the tempo on some of the tracks to extend or contract certain beats.

Unfortunately, it's kind of too much to listen to front-to-back (which is especially silly given that most of the tracks transition into each other).

I am still really proud of its ideas though, and I think all the tracks hold up individually; especially "Bismuth," "Stars Out," "Foxglove," and "Bloom."

I will come back to write a little about each track soon!
